The Library is reading Secrets of a Dangerous Woman by p.m. terrell, who is also giving away a $20 Amazon gift card to one randomly drawn commenter. You can see the other stops here: http://goddessfishpromotions.blogspot.com/2013/05/review-tour-secrets-of-dangerous-woman.html.

READ THE BLURB

Dylan Maguire is back and in his first mission with the CIA he must interrogate a recently captured Brenda Carnegie. But when she escapes again, it’s obvious that she’s had help from within the CIA’s own ranks. With Vicki Boyd’s psychic help, he must locate her again—and find out why some in the highest levels of government want her dead while others will risk everything to help her. And when he finds out her true identity, his mission has just become very personal.

READ THE REVIEW

Secrets of a Dangerous Woman is the second book of p.m. terrell's Black Swamp Mysteries but also has significant ties to Exit 22. That said, it's also very much a standalone book and can be read and enjoyed without having read the others.

p.m. terrell has a gift for pulling the reader into a non-stop adventure--without that adventure ever feeling forced or unnecessary. Once you start reading her books, you literally don't want to put them down until you have finished, because you have to know what is happening next.

She also amps up the relationship issue between Vicki and Dylan by throwing in a spanner in the form of another woman (which leads to a great scene in the book concerning a bedroom door). And... she leaves the door wide open figuratively for the next book in the series, Dylan's Song.

5 stars for this book!!

  1. I love series books that can be read as part of that series or as a stand alone. That's clever writing & much appreciated.

    1. Thank you for following my book tour, Mary! I know exactly what you mean about series books that can also be read as a stand-alone. I sometimes begin reading a series mid-stream and realize I haven't a clue who and what they are talking about. I'm glad to know mine aren't like that. :)
