Straight Reading from the Library: Sworn to Transfer by Terah Edun

Today at The Library we are reviewing the second book in the Courtlight Trilogy, Sworn to Transfer. The author will award a $25 Amazon or BN Giftcard + Swag Pack of Bookmarks, Posters & Magnets to a randomly drawn commenter during the tour. You can see the other stops on the virtual book tour here: http://goddessfishpromotions.blogspot.com/2013/10/review-tour-courtlight-series-by-terah.html.

READ THE BLURB

Eighteen-year-old companion trainee Ciardis Weathervane has won the friendship of the royal heir and saved his claim to the throne. Yet her interference in the inheritance rights leaves more harm done than good. The Ameles Forest lies unprotected and its inhabitants are dying.

As humans begin to die in gruesome deaths, the Emperor dispatches the royal heir to the forests with the solution to the kith concerns.

With enemies closing ranks in Sandrin, Ciardis can little afford to leave the city’s nest of vipers to take on a new task. But she’s given no choice when her loyalty to the crown and courts are called into question.

To keep the Companions’ Guild happy and the favor of the Imperial Court, Ciardis will be tested in frightening new ways, especially when she’s faced with an obstacle that could risk the lives of her friends and the family she never thought she had.

This second novel continues the story of Ciardis Weathervane from Sworn To Raise.

READ THE REVIEW

This is book two of the Courtlight Series by Terah Edun. I read the first book, Sworn to Raise (btw, it's currently free on Amazon and BN.com), but I believe that Sworn to Transfer can easily be read as a standalone. Of course, reading the books in order, you will get much more enjoyment out of them as you can see the growth of the characters.

And, there is growth in Ciardis in this book--although she does still manage to get herself into predicaments due to her lack of skill and knowledge of court life and her innate abilities. We also get to meet another interesting player in the politics of area.

No spoilers, but there is a cliffhanging ending--so beware-- and I'm off to get book three to find out what happens.
