READ THE INTERVIEW

What began the process for this book? Why did you have to write it?

Well, after I’d written In This Life (Book 1 of the Past Life Series) I knew David and Lottie’s story wasn’t finished. In fact, it hadn’t even yet begun. There is so much more to their past lives and the millennia-old secrets they’re only now starting to uncover…not to mention enemies who resurface with murderous intentions. But, to be honest, it’s David’s story that really gets me going. I love his character to the ends of the earth and look for any excuse to write about him, so the second book seemed a natural thing to do!

Did you always think you were going to be an author?

Uh, no. Howzat for honesty?

What books/authors have influenced you the most?

I’ve been asked this question so many times and my answer has never, ever changed. I’m a ginormous fan of Robert Crais and Harlan Coben. GINORMOUS. Crais, in particular, has a style that takes hold and just…I dunno…entrances me. It’s my hope to do the same to my readers. If I could spend a day with him, to learn what he knows, to tap into his brain, I would. If only…

What is your typical day like?

Oh, I get up and go for a swim in the heated pool. Then I spend 3 hours at the gym, and follow that with a nosh on croissants and coffee with friends…Hehehe. Had you there for a second, didn’t I? Seriously, I work full time in downtown NYC, sneak in writing on the train to and from during my commute, and spend what time I can with my husband and college-age son. If I can, I’ll go to the beach to bask in the glow of a breathtaking sunrise, head to the beach with wine and cheese to watch the sunset, and have parties with friends where we share tapas and red wine and sing as loudly and dance as crazily as we can. Life, for me, is most beautiful in its simplicity.

What do you enjoy doing when you aren't writing or promoting a current book?

See last question. Friends. Red wine. Sunrises. Beach. :-)

Now just a bit of fun stuff:

People might be surprised to know I like....

New Adventures of Old Christine. I keep recording the reruns and keep watching them over and over and over…it’s my go-to for unwinding and a good laugh.

What is the last book you read?

Harlan Coben’s Missing You.

What is the last movie you've watched? Was it at the movies or at home?

At home. A rerun of Meet the Fockers. Streisand and Hoffman totally steal the show.

If you could be any fictional character from any book, who would you be and why?

Oh man…I don’t know. I love suspense and thrillers, and every character I love is usually the bad guy. And you know what happens to the bad guys…

What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?

Probably give more drivers the finger.

Anything else you'd like to include/mention? Thank so much for having me here today. I so totally enjoyed the interview!

READ THE BLURB

Everyone wants something.

Even if it belongs to someone else.

And some will destroy the very thing they want, just so no one else can have it.

Professional soldier David Bellotti's latest mission seems simple: steal the key card to a drug lord's compound so the empire can be infiltrated and destroyed. But when David discovers evidence of his lover Lottie’s possible infidelity, his mission turns personal. He searches for answers others would kill to keep buried and discovers a link to the past he's been trying hard to ignore.

Ancient lives, twelve thousand year old secrets, murder, and primal instincts lead David on a journey through past lives and present danger—all to save the woman he loves.

Find your way back through history, when hunter-gatherers roamed and David and Lottie's past incarnations began. The Reading Café calls Covet, Book Two of the Past Life Series, "An amazing and fascinating storyline of suspense, mystery, betrayal, hatred and love."

MEET THE AUTHOR

Terri looks for any opportunity to make stuff up. She thinks anything that can’t so easily be explained is worth an extra look and often makes a great story. She loves red wine, scotch, sunrises, Ancient Egypt, the beach—and a host of other stuff that would take too much real estate to talk about. The youngest of five children, Terri lives with her husband and son on Long Island. And, in her next life, if she hasn’t moved on to somewhere else, she wants to be an astronomer. Terri’s fascinated with the night skies almost as much as she’s fascinated with ancient Egypt.

Terri is a member of member of Sisters in Crime and Mystery Writers of America, and you can read about her at http://terriponce.com.

If you love social media, you can also find Terri on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Terri.Ponce.Author and on Twitter at https://twitter.com/TerriPonce. Come visit. She’d love to hear from you!
