READ THE INTERVIEW

What is your favorite book today?

My favorite book is definitely Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. I have read it twice and will probably read it again. I really wish he would write more in the book as a series, it really was such a special book. Its one that ill always remember and would highly recommend. He just has this way with words and creating these magical universes, truly a master author.

What are you reading right now?

I am actually going to read the second book in the Shadow and Bone series called Storm and Siege by Leigh Bardugo. I am super excited because I loved the show on Netlfix and I just cant wait for the second season lol I do that with all of the tv shows or movies lol.

Do you have any bad book habits?

Oh yes I do I dog ear pages and forget to use a book mark lol it drives me crazy too with certain books that you really want to keep neat and clean lol I always forget a book mark or it falls out and go right to the dog ear lol im trying to get better with this habit though

E-Reader or print? and why?

I am old school and like print books better. I just really like the feel of the book in my hand and physically turning the page. I have tried reading books through my tablet or phone and for some reason it is just not the same experience to me. I used to love that new book smell and I love going to a book store. I think that love of a book store also pushes me to want print copies. I just love seeing all those print books and perusing a shelf for a new one by my favorite author. I grew up with print books and I think ill always love them.

One book at a time or multiples?

I love to only read one book at a time which actually makes it hard when a new book comes out that I really want to read lol I wont put down the current book lol itll frustrate me sometimes but I feel like even if I have more than one book to read, I need atleast a week in between to fully absorb and take in the book I just read. I don’t want to read a book so fast I cant pick it up and not remember because I did not absorb it. For me it is much better to read one book at a time.

Favorite book you've read this year?

Definitely Prince Lestat and the realms of Atlantis by Anne Rice. She is one of my favorite authors and I just devour her books lol this one was so different and really tied up some things from previous books so well. It was engaging and easy to read, it is by far one of my favorites of her series about the vampires yet. It was an amazing way to explain certain things and a great and inventive take on the legend of Atlantis. I would highly recommend her books and this one in particular.

How do you keep your books organized?

I have a book shelf, a small one and I put specific books on each side depending on their subject. Im very particular about this; I have to keep my books organized. These are mainly books for work and my career too but anything that’s for fun, if I have not read it or wanted to donate it yet, it is on the side in my second room. I have on the top the books I need to read and the order I want to read them in. im all about being organized to find things easier.

Re-reader or not?

Total rereader! And its so funny but I never thought I would do that. But as I got older I actually forgot I read certain books and reread them lol and now even though ive read them twice its hard to remember the story so I have a few on my watch list on amazon I want to read again lol. I feel like a good book that you loved so much but don’t remember all of it needs to be reread. That’s the mark of an amazing story that itch to read it again maybe 10 or 15 years later. Its funny too because it is only books by Neil Gaiman. For some reason I always want to reread his.

What would make you not finish a book?

Oh goodness it would really have to be boring. It really would have to not capture my attention which is rare. I have read books that were boring but I continued to read and finish anyways because you never know it could get better or it was all I had lol. It is really rare for me to not finish a book.

Keep books or give them away?

I keep them for a certain amount of time and then when im ready I donate them to a charity. I also donate books I have reviewed to the Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia. Maybe because I donate them I forget I read them and then have to rebuy like 10 years later lol.
