READ THE INTERVIEW

What is the favorite book you remember as a child?
Harry Potter. It was magical to me with all the witchcraft and wizardry. Reading about magic is something I find fascinating.

Tell us about your current book in 10 words.
First contact where a human experiment is the alien species.

What are you reading right now?
So many books! One of the ones I’m actively reading is Azarinth Healer. I’ve been following the series since its inception online and now that it’s being published into novel format, I’ve getting back into the series to enjoy it again!

One book at a time or multiples?
Multiple. I’m always looking for new books to read and always have a roster of ongoing ones.

Dog-ear or bookmark? (don't worry—Librarian Judith won't hold it against you—much)
Bookmark. I couldn’t bear to crease the pages of my books.

When do you do most of your reading?
In the evenings mostly. While I’d like to read all day long, sadly that isn’t possible.

Favorite place to read?
Anywhere I deem comfortable enough to sit for hours at a time. Most of the time, though, this ends up being at my desk since I love my chair there.

Favorite genre?
Definitely fantasy. Seeing the worlds and cultures people come up with is a passion of mine.

Re-reader or not?
Re-reader. Sometimes stories are just so good I want to experience them again – even if I already know what’s going to happen.

Keep books or give them away?
I definitely keep my books. I love the having a bookshelf full of stories I love to read.

READ THE BLURB

Adrian thought his time as a human experiment was over, that he was done suffering and had finally died. Never did he expect to wake up somewhere new, somewhere alien and far different than he could've ever imagined.

Has he found salvation, or is a test subject all he's destined to be?

***

When a scouting mission brings Reya and her team to a star sector that doesn't support life, they stumble into far more than they first bargained for. The planet they thought was deserted contains secrets with far-reaching consequences.

READ AN EXCERPT

Intrusive thoughts tumbled around in his mind incessantly. He replayed the experiments that had already been performed on him prior to waking up in the strange room. Memories of long hours spent curled up in pain on an uncomfortable cot alongside his cellmates came and went as time crawled by. Recollections of the constant stream of injections full of unidentifiable substances flashed by. He knew not what they did nor why he’d been given them, save that they were highly lethal. He’d survived, but he wondered at what cost.

His final moments before being shoved in the pod fought for dominance in his mind. Adrian tried in vain to push away the memory of liquid entering his lungs and drowning him as he gasped for air that wasn’t there. His breath came in short, shallow gasps as he forced himself to calm down.

Closing his eyes, he tapped his fingers nervously against the floor. His ears pricked and his eyes snapped open. There it was. That sound again. That suctioning, melting, bubbling sound. Adrian’s heart beat frantically in his chest as he expected to finally encounter his captors. He got ready to get up and run. He’d spent enough time as a lab rat.

  1. Good evening. Thank you for responding to my query from yesterday, I hope that your cinematic dreams come true! Are you a fan of animation? If so, do you think that your stories would translate well to that medium?

    1. Hello again Bea and thank you for the warm wishes! I am a fan of animation. I honestly think my stories might translate better to animation than to a live action movie (but both would work!).
