READ THE BLURB

She was a dangerous man's lover...now she's his dangerous enemy.

YUCATAN DEAD...

For Kate Jones, being on the run from her former lover--the vicious leader of a Mexican drug cartel--was never going to be easy. But with a new identity, a new lover, and a new life in Arizona, she was beginning to believe she'd made it through the worst.

Then, in an act of twisted revenge, Kate's kidnapped and imprisoned by her deadly enemy, his intention to force her to pay back the money she stole before he kills her.

Fate intervenes and she finds herself working against the cartels deep in the Yucatan with a group of off-the-grid commandos. From peaceful northern Arizona to the steamy jungles of Mexico, Kate Jones must decide for herself if she'll continue to run...

...or turn and fight the evil that pursues her.

READ MY REVIEW

Want a thrill ride? Grab a copy of Yucatan Dead.

I can't say enough good things about this story. While it may not have appeased the romantic in me (next book will... right?), it certainly kept me riveted to the pages. I can't remember the last time a suspense/thriller type novel grabbed me so quickly and completely.

It has a strong, determined and amazingly courageous heroine, an evil, powerful villain (or two) and a cast of characters who are utterly unique and interesting and each one is necessary to the story ... only don't get too attached. Not everyone will survive this crazy ride.

Honestly, just thinking about the book again is making my heart pound. It's a not stop thrill ride from start to finish. I never knew what would happen next, and couldn't guess the ending. Really well written and plotted and I am waiting with bated breath for the next book, though I may satisfy the need by reading the rest of this series. Just a really great read. What are you waiting for? Grab a copy of your own, but set aside plenty of time to read it because you won't want to put it down.

MEET THE AUTHOR

DV Berkom is a slave to the voices in her head. As the author of two bestselling thriller series (Leine Basso and Kate Jones), her love of creating resilient, kick-*ss female characters stems from a lifelong addiction to reading spy novels, mysteries, and thrillers, and longing to find the female equivalent within those pages.

Raised in the Midwest, she received her BA in political science from the University of Minnesota and promptly moved to Mexico to live on a sailboat. Many, many cross-country moves (and several years) later, she now lives just outside of Seattle, Washington with the love of her life, Mark, an ex-chef-turned contractor, and writes every chance she gets.

  1. Sounds like this book would make a great movie. If that happened, who would you like to see play the major characters?

    1. That's a really hard question, Karen. There are so many brilliant actors who are working today, it would be hard to choose! I did create a board on Pinterest with possibilities, though, so if you're interested here's the link: http://www.pinterest.com/dvberkom/the-kate-jones-thriller-series/ That would be a great question to ask readers!

      Thanks for the comment :-)
