READ THE INTERVIEW

What is your favorite book today?

My favorite book today would have to be A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas. It might not be a literary masterpiece, but when I can finish a 600 pager in under a week with my high-stress job, social life, and writing, it’s really something special.

Tell us about your current book in 10 words.

Sexy, dark vampires that are buttheads to their human servants.

What are you reading right now?

The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh and The Beckoning Shadow by Katharyn Blair!

Do you have any bad book habits?

I dog-ear for bookmarks, and I tend to buy a lot of books and finish few… I think these are pretty standard bad habits for readers, but still!

E-Reader or print? and why?

E-reader if it’s the paper-white kind. Print if it’s the traditional screen kind. I want to be able to conveniently read while outside, and reflective screens are a real pain.

One book at a time or multiples?

Multiple… I get sick of reading the same storyline (most likely my ADHD above anything else) and so I hop around.

Favorite place to read?

I made a book nook awhile back out of extra attic storage space! I love that room. I painted it myself, laid carpet, and decorated it with books and rope lights for the finishing touch.

Favorite genre?

Fantasy of course! I suppose paranormal is also up there. :-)

How do you keep your books organized?

I’m a chaotic, disorganized person by nature so I’ll let you imagine that train wreck of a shelf. :-)

Re-reader or not?

Not unless I feel like I have to re-read to completely understand the ending. There are those wonderful books you find every once and awhile that really just knock you off of your feet, and you realize you missed ALL of the clues in the first half of the book. Those are fun ones to re-read because then it feels like a scavenger hunt.

READ THE BLURB

"A vampire tale with a heady mix of defiance and doubt, rebellion and romance." — Kirkus Reviews

"There is not a single dull moment in this book... A Violet Fire has all the ingredients to become the next Hollywood movie about vampires." — Readers' Favorite

"In the Vampire Stratocracy of Cain, human blood is scarce. For centuries, councils have sought to assuage the blood shortage by enslaving and breeding humans, turning them into profitable supply units for the rich and the abled.

Today, eighteen-year-old Wavorly Sterling is officially a supply unit, bound to serve her blood willingly to her master for the rest of her life. One of only few humans that was not bred in Cain, Wavorly knows freedom better than anyone, and she is determined to escape the clutches of her oppressors—despite the allure of forbidden love."

READ AN EXCERPT

I sink lower into the ground. I probably won’t have another shot at escaping either. If they are smart, they’ll keep me in here until Distribution, and most likely monitor me all the way up until the ceremonial judgment. A sole thought forces itself through the mess. What if Zein’s crazy enough to take me back to his castle? To be a part of his blood supply? My fingers clench into my palms. No, even if I manage to get into Zein’s beautiful estate, no doubt I would still find a way to get out. Enslavement is still enslavement, no matter how soft the chains.

    1. Sara! Hey girl!
My favorite thing about ACOMAF is definitely the romance. It was such a slow-burn "JUST MAKE OUT ALREADY" type with huge chemistry; a kind that I honestly hope I'll be able to write half as well one day. haha

I would totally arrange my bookshelves by color! I'm such a visual person, and when I see them in BookTube videos I'm always in awe.
